Yes, Be Active Here! Sport and Active Recreation - The Heartbeat of the East Riding
With the support of partners and residents we have developed the Pride, Passion and Participation Strategy, which will influence and shape the future of sport and recreation in Hull from 2008 to 2013. The strategy sets an agenda for the Hull's Community Sport Network to improve the quality of sport and active recreation opportunities for all city residents.
The Humber Sports Partnership is a partnership of key agencies committed to providing a high quality delivery system for people to benefit from sport across the Humber sub-region.
Hull FC have played an integral part in the life of the people of Hull and the East Riding since its formation in 1865. Sport has the unique ability to raise the spirits and unite different ages, sexes, ethnicities and social economic groups in a shared passion. Hull FC Foundation is an exciting and further step forward in the role that sport and Hull FC play in Hull and the East Riding. The Foundation will ensure that the fantastic work of the Community Development department is further enhanced through local strategic partnerships with the public and private sector.
We are proud of the work that we do through our community program. Because of that we understand what an important part sport plays in so many peoples lives. There are many unsung heroes who work tirelessly to deliver activities at grassroots level. These awards give a much needed opportunity to recognise in some way the efforts of those involved and we are delighted to be asked to be an official partner.
The Stingrays are delighted to provide support for this exciting initiative. We are particularly pleased that it encourages recognition of the many volunteers that are vital in building and maintaining structures which allows others to sample sport, develop skills and aspire to become Elite competitors. As the professional local Ice Hockey club we see ourselves representing and promoting the various ice sports and recreational activities that thrive at the Hull Arena, as well as working within the community for the betterment of the city and its residents.
Hull City Football Club is fully supportive of the excellent work that our community scheme has initiated and been involved in since 1990.Current projects aimed at further engaging the community include health, social inclusion, education, enterprise and sporting participation. Through these projects we are fully aware of the hard work, endeavor and commitment of the countless volunteers involved with sport at all levels and feel that these awards are a great opportunity for these individuals to receive they due recognition.
